La Junta Police Arrest Pueblo Teen Following Early Morning Shooting
On January 12, 2025, around 4:13 am, La Junta police officers were on routine patrol and heard gunshots in the area of 4th St. and Dalton Ave. in La Junta, CO.
Officers responded to the area, and with the help of witnesses, located the involved vehicle.
The suspect, 19-year-old Anthony Esquibel of Pueblo, was taken into custody. Esquibel was taken to the Bent County Jail and booked on charges of attempted 1st-degree assault, illegal discharge of a firearm, prohibited use of a weapon, and reckless endangerment.
The La Junta Police K-9's were used during the investigation.
