Janice Whatley, 74, was born on February 11, 1950, in La Junta, Colorado passed away unexpectedly on December 22, 2024, at her La Junta home.
 
Janice lived a full life, she was free spirited, feisty, strong woman. One who was never afraid of speaking her mind. She will be remembered for her love, strength and resilience. Janice enjoyed family time, camping, and fishing. She enjoyed plants, music, loved Elvis and was an avid Denver Broncos fan.
 
She also loved her animals, especially her cats. We are deeply saddened by her loss and will never forget the memories we shared with her! 
 
She is survived by her sister Sylvia (Michael) Douglass of La Junta, CO. Nephew, Levi (Sally) Dellinger of Rocky Ford, CO. Niece, Patti Warren and family of Parker, CO. Nephew, Sean (Annie) Douglass and family of Richland, Washington. Chris (Sarah) Douglass and family of Aiken, South Carolina. Grandson, Marcos Trujillo of La Junta, CO. Son in law Paul Trujillo of La Junta, CO. Brother-in-law Lonnie Estep of Peralta, NM. Also her best friend Melva Cranson of La Junta, CO. And caregiver Angelica Perez of Rocky Ford, CO. 
 
Janice was preceded in death by her parents, Warren and Charlene Snyder. Daughter, Michelle Trujillo. Son, Brian Whatley. Brother, Gary Snyder. Sister, Vicki Warren. Sister, Karen Estep. Niece, Kimberly Warren. 
 
No public services will be held at this time. There will be a private celebration with Family and Friends to honor Janice at a later date.
