Christmas Chaos on the Road: Assistance Needed!
As Christmas often goes, it's been a whirlwind—and not the festive kind.
At approximately 7:53 PM, the Springfield Police Department attempted to contact the driver of an older model red Pontiac Grand Prix with Colorado temporary plates. However, the driver had other plans and quickly fled the scene.
The pursuit initially wound through the side streets of Springfield but was discontinued due to the dangerous speeds the driver was reaching in residential areas. Moments later, the vehicle was spotted heading south on Highway 287, where the pursuit was reengaged. The driver continued southbound before taking Highway 160 west, ultimately veering onto a county road.
For the safety of everyone involved, including the driver, the pursuit was again called off.
We believe we have identified the vehicle's owner and are working with them to determine who was behind the wheel tonight. If you’ve seen this vehicle, have any information about the driver, or witnessed any unusual activity involving a red Grand Prix, we’d appreciate your assistance.
