Bent County Historical Society Announces Buffalo Soldier’s Presentation March 25th
The Bent County Historical Society is proud to announce that their guest speaker this year for their annual meeting will be Dennis R. Moore of Colorado Springs.
The annual meeting will be held on Saturday, March 25th starting at 11:30 am in the Grand Hall at the Museum. Dennis is a founding member of the Buffalo Soldiers Memorial Committee in Colorado Springs.
The Committee is dedicated to the preservation and commemoration of the role the Buffalo Soldiers had in Colorado. Buffalo Soldiers Company “L” Ninth U. S. Cavalry served at the Fort Lyon Cavalry Post. Dennis has provided over 50 plus Buffalo Soldiers presentations since 2014.
The Historical Society will be honoring their members, volunteers, employees, friends, and partners. They will have a brief meeting at 11:45 and lunch begins at noon.
Lunch will include roast beef provided by the Copper Kitchen; rolls, drinks, and members donating sides and desserts. The presentation will take place immediately following lunch.
