Southeast Colorado Antique Vehicle Club March 2025 NEWSLETTER

Minutes of the February 14 meeting

President Wayne Potter called the meeting to order with 29 members present. After reciting the Pledge by all, Rethabel Huff led us in prayer.

Old Business

We will be composing an old car calendar consisting of members’ cars and tractors for 2026. It will sell to members for cost plus an extra dollar or two to supplement the club’s income. Carrie Potter will be taking photos. There will be a sign-up sheet if you wish to purchase one.

New Business

Lee Fulbright wants to have the club out to Kim in the spring to view old cars. There will be an agreement among Jimmie Martinez, Chuck Donkle and Lee as to who and what is going to take place. Is this the spring Defrost and Debug tour or not? There will be more discussion.

The Las Animas Fire Department is holding a Poker Run and Car show on Saturday, June 14. They have asked us to participate. Wayne said they have helped him and he wishes the club to reciprocate.

Wayne thought it would be fun to have a “Car & Donuts” Saturday morning somewhere to exchange ideas and talk “old cars.” It would be informal and whoever shows up gets to yak and eat. No date was set at present.

Jimmie Martinez mentioned that the club needs a work day at the Otero Museum. Leonard Walgren has donated his ‘34 Plymouth and the display needs rearranging in order to display it. Members will volunteer when they get the word to come.

If anyone has a project they need help with, others are ready to dig in. Just let the club know and someone with some expertise will show up.

Rose Grim is in the nursing home at Blue Stem here in La Junta. Visitors are appreciated.

An auction of old miniature cars was held to provide funds for a March 29 chili dinner at the Allens in Sugar City.

Please pay your $20 club dues by April 1, 2025. We plan to do a roster update, and only current members will be included.

Meeting adjourned.

Judy Walgren, Secretary

Hope to see you all there.

2025 Dues are Due! If you can’t pay in person at the next meeting, please mail your check to: Carol Allen, P.O. Box 64, Sugar City, CO 81076.
