Mississippi Woman Arrested in Pueblo County for Parental Kidnapping; Missing 11-Year-Old Safely Recovered

Pueblo County Sheriff’s detectives and the U.S. Marshals Violent Offender Task Force located and arrested a Mississippi woman this afternoon, who was wanted on a parental kidnapping out of Olive Branch, Mississippi.

The Olive Branch Police Department contacted the U.S. Marshals for the District of Colorado after receiving information that a woman wanted for the abduction of her 11-year-old child was possibly in the Colorado Springs area.

Sharayon Brown, 28, was sought in the abduction of her biological child from Olive Branch, Mississippi.

Members of the U.S. Marshal Service Violent Offender Task Force, which includes detectives from the Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office and Fountain Police, searched several locations in Colorado Springs and located vehicles associated with Brown and the child. The Colorado Springs Police Department and the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office also assisted in the Colorado Springs area. The Colorado State Patrol assisted in locating the woman and child.

This afternoon, Brown and the abducted child were located in the 3400 block of N. Elizabeth Street in Pueblo. Brown was arrested on the Mississippi kidnapping warrant. She was booked into the Pueblo County Jail.

The child was safely recovered, and Pueblo Sheriff’s Detectives transported the child to the El Paso County Department of Human Services, where arrangements are being made for reunification with the custodial family.
