Obituary

Patricia Laura (Sigworth) Kuban, affectionately known as Patty, was born July 14, 1958 in Wayne, Michigan to John and Marilyn (Mcleod) Sigworth.  She passed away, surrounded by her daughters, on February 25, 2026 at her home in Holly, Colorado, at the age of 67.

She spent her early years in Michigan, forming friendships and foundations that would shape the rest of her life.  Patty attended Wildwood Elementary School in Wayne, Michigan, where she met her dear friend, Charise. Later, while attending middle school in Marshall, Michigan, she met her “partners in crime,” Jeanie and Cheryl. These lifelong friendships were deeply influential in the woman Patty became and remained treasured throughout her life.

Patty’s faith in Jesus Christ became the foundation of her life and the source of her strength. It guided her decisions, shaped her character, and provided her with deep comfort — especially during life’s most difficult seasons. After the passing of her father when she was just 12 years old, her faith became deeply personal, and she gave her life to the Lord. During the loss of her father, her grandfather stepped into the role of father figure, providing steady love and guidance.  Patty cherished Sunday dinners with her grandparents, where love was often expressed through home-cooked meals. Her grandmother was an excellent cook, and Patty learned so much from her in that kitchen — not just recipes, but the importance of gathering, nurturing, and caring for others through food. Her bond with her grandparents led to the most precious memories.

Above all else, Patty adored her family, especially her grandchildren. They were her pride and joy, and she treasured every moment spent with them. She loved meaningful conversation and could talk for hours, always genuinely interested in the lives and stories of those around her. Patty had a special love for animals and a natural warmth that made both people and pets feel at ease. She carried a wonderful sense of humor and brought lightness to those fortunate enough to know her.

Patty is survived by her daughters, Nicole Kuban and Jennifer (Nolan) Thompson; granddaughters, Hailie, Addy, Elly, and Emery; great granddaughter, Miley; sister, Linda (Ed) Beedle; other relatives and a host of friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Marilyn Sigworth; and brother, Michael Sigworth.
