Bent County Sheriff’s Office Shares Vehicle Theft and Trespassing Prevention Guidance

The Bent County Sheriff’s Office would like to remind all residents of several safety tips to help prevent vehicle theft and trespassing.

Recently, we have experienced a large increase in calls regarding thefts from vehicles. To protect your property, please follow these precautions:

• Lock Up: Ensure all doors are fully closed and locked.

• Secure Windows: Make sure all windows are rolled up completely.

• Hide Valuables: Do not leave bags, electronics, or other valuables visible inside the cabin.

• Strategic Parking: Park in well-lit areas whenever possible.

• Security Cameras: We highly endorse the use of residential security cameras to deter criminal activity.
