Obituary

William Barry Eaton (Bill), born on December 13, 1943, in Springfield, CO, peacefully passed away on January 15, 2026, surrounded by his family. He was the son of Cyrus and Juanita Eaton and had two sisters, Hazel and Joyce, and one brother, Kenny.

In 1946 the Eaton family relocated from Leadville to Walsh, where Bill’s early years were filled with memories of helping on his grandparents’ farm. Bill attended school in Walsh until 1956, when the loss of his father prompted a move to the mountains, settling in Eagle, Co, Where Juanita, his mother, remarried to Joe Roth, and Bill spent many of his days hunting and fishing and his nights working at his mother’s restaurant. After a few years, they moved to Cambridge OH, where they purchased a dairy farm, and it was here that Bill completed his high school education before returning to Walsh.

Upon his return to Walsh, he reunited with his sisters, moving in with Joyce and Wayne for a brief time. In 1965 he enlisted in the Army National guard and was listed as a 91B20 Medical specialist with the 2nd and 3rd Platoons, honorably discharged with the rank of E4 in 1971. It was during this time span that Bill met the love of his life, Loretta Jewel Packard, with whom he shared a lifetime of memories, including the joy of raising a family. His family meant the world to him, and he cherished every moment spent with them, especially his grandchildren. Known for his gentle humor and willingness to help those in need, Bill touched the hearts of all who knew him.

In Bill’s passing, he is preceded by his parents, Cyrus and Juanita Eaton, his sister Joyce and her husband Wayne Villers, and his brother Kenny Eaton. He is survived and deeply missed by his loving wife Loretta Jewel Eaton; Sister Hazel Hume; sons Chad and Wife Teresa, Ryan and Brad; Grandchildren Tamela, Autumn, Jadalyn, Mikkayla and Briar; Great Grandchildren Emelia, Ethans and Deecin as well as numerous nieces and nephews who held a special place in his heart.
