Obituary
A memorial celebration of life for former Holly, Colorado resident currently of Mesa, Arizona Ron Anderson will be held at 10:00AM on Monday, February 9, 2026 at the Peacock Family Chapel with Pastor Kathy Leathers officiating.
Ron Anderson was born February 8, 1938 and passed away November 19, 2025. Even though he is no longer with us, there is much comfort knowing that he is in heaven now.
Ron is survived by his wife Gerri, his three sons Gary (Cindy), Allen (Robin), and Terry (Denise). He is also survived by Gerri’s three sons Mike (Marie) Becker, David Becker, and Bill (Sherri) Becker, Sister Carole Rowland and sister-in-law Elaine Anderson. Grandchildren Laura (Bo) Anderson, Brittany (Judson) Eddins, Hayden (Dru) Anderson, Jim (Briana) Anderson, Courtney (Josh) Scaff, Heath (Laura) Anderson, Kevin (Karin) Anderson, Nolan Anderson, Claire Becker, Vanessa (Les) Zuege, and Andrew Becker, and 15 great grandchildren.
Ron was born in Atwood Kansas to parents Clarence and Melva (Escue) Anderson. The family moved to Holly Colorado where Ron attended Holly schools, graduating from Holly High School in 1956. Ron enjoyed sports and was a member of Holly High School Wildcats 1953 high school football state championship team.
After high school, Ron married Norma Jean Tousley. To this union, three sons were born, Gary, Allen, and Terry. He attended Lamar Community College, then received a business degree from Adams State College. The family settled in Lamar, living in a very small house on Oak Street. In 1964, Ron and Norma built a modest home in the fairly new Willow Valley subdivision. The family moved to the new home shortly before the flood of 1965. Willow Valley was high, so the new home was spared. (Ron said he was very concerned about the monthly payment on the home’s $7,500 mortgage.)
Ron’s faith and church were very important to him. He was the church treasurer for twenty years. He and the family enjoyed traveling and camping. Ron especially enjoyed trips to the family cabin. He and his three sons were involved in the cub scouts and boy scouts, along with various other activities.
Ron had his own accounting and tax practice (with Norma’s help) in the 1960’s, located on Beech Street. In 1970, Ron partnered with accountant Earl Buster, (whose practice was on Main Street), and Buster and Anderson was “born”. In 1979, Ron and Earl purchased a lot and built a new office at the corner of 4th and Parmenter Streets. Ron was active in his state accounting society, serving on its board, and eventually as President of the accounting society. Ron retired in 2005 so he could then begin the next adventures that retirement offered.
After Norma passed away, Ron married Gerri Martsolf in 1989. With this union, there were now six sons, with Gerri adding her sons Mike, David, and Bill. Ron and Gerri traveled extensively. Upon his retirement, Ron and Gerri wintered in Arizona while still enjoying their home in Lamar. Ron enjoyed Arizona (no more cold winters!!) so they sold their Lamar home and made Arizona their home. Ron enjoyed playing golf (or rather, he would say he played at it). He also enjoyed bocce ball and Tuesday night Wings with his friends. He enjoyed spending time with all of his and Gerri’s children and grandchildren and attending as many of their events as he could. He will be missed by his family and friends, but there is great joy knowing that he is now with God!
Peacock Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
