Fowler Police Arrest Local Man After Months-Long Theft Investigation, Animal Cruelty Charges Filed
The Fowler Police Department is providing an update regarding an ongoing investigation into a series of thefts within the community.
The investigation began on November 5, 2025. On January 7, 2026, after an extensive investigation, the Fowler Police Department, with assistance from the Manzanola Police Department, executed a search warrant in the 300 block of 11th Street in Fowler. Evidence relevant to the investigation was recovered, and an arrest warrant was issued.
On January 8, 2026, Jonah Lee Sharon of Fowler was arrested without incident and taken into custody.
Sharon is currently being held at the Otero County Jail on the following charges:
• 32 counts of Aggravated Animal Cruelty
• 7 counts of Theft
• 7 counts of Attempted Theft
• 14 counts of Second Degree Criminal Trespass
• 3 counts of Criminal Mischief
All charges are allegations. The defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
