Obituary
Gregory Alan Walker, known mostly as Greg, passed away on December 14, 2025 in Fowler, Colorado. He was born on February 20, 1962, in Frederick, Oklahoma, to Bobby Walker and Carol Stuckey Allen.
Greg now rests in peace alongside his father, Bobby; his mother, Carol; his stepfather, Art Allen and brother, Tony.
A proud graduate of Fowler High School, class of 1980, Greg spent the last twenty-six years working in Otero County in the Road and Bridge Department. He took pride in his work and the people he worked alongside, forming friendships that lasted a lifetime.
Greg loved the outdoors and felt most at home hunting or fishing. He had a need for speed and competition, whether racing motorcycles and cars or tearing up the track in demolition derbies. Greg began working on vehicles at a young age, and when it came to fixing or building anything, there wasn’t much he couldn’t figure out. His hands were rarely still, and he took pride in knowing how things worked and how to make them work better. Greg had a gift for making people laugh. He truly never met a stranger and was always ready with a joke, some good-natured heckling, or a helping hand. If someone needed help, Greg was there – no questions asked.
The greatest joy of Greg’s life came in September when he became a grandfather. His grandson, Masen Wayne Walker, instantly became the light of his life. Greg was already dreaming of all the fishing trips, adventures and memories they would share, and his love for Masen was evident to everyone who saw them together.
Greg is survived by his son, Justin (Izzy) Walker; grandson, Masen Walker; Justin’s mother, Heather Nelson; his sister, Pam (Glen) Fillmore; his niece, Blair (Joey) and grandnephew, Gage; his Strecker cousins, Charlotte, Doug, Elaine, Beverly, Rhonda and Billy; and many friends who were more like family; Joan Johnson and his beloved dachshund, May.
Greg will be remembered for his generous heart, his infectious humor, his love of the outdoors, and the way he showed up for the people whenever they needed him. He leaves behind countless stories, laughter and memories that will be treasured forever.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at Cottonwood Links Golf Course in Fowler, Colorado.
