I-25 Closures for I-25/US 50B Bridge Demolition
Expect nightly closures and detours of I-25 in Pueblo Nov. 7 to 9
Pueblo — To advance and facilitate the construction of the Interstate 25 and US Highway 50B Interchange project, the Colorado Department of Transportation, and its contractor partner SEMA Construction, will require a series of overnight closures of I-25 closures, with detours, to safely demolish the current US 50B bridge over I-25. Reminder - access at the interchange remains limited to the northbound I-25 on- and off-ramps until substantial completion of the project. Motorists should plan to use CO 47 to access US 50B and I-25.
“Removal of the US 50B bridge over I-25 is integral to advancing the I-25/US 50B interchange project” said CDOT Regional Transportation Director Shane Ferguson. “The closures are required to ensure the safety of work crews and the traveling public.”

Project Information
Work on the $114 million I-25/US 50B Interchange project began in December 2024. During construction, crews will build five new bridge structures, retaining and noise walls, roadway and ramp reconstruction, embankment, safety improvements, drainage and erosion control. Once complete, the interchange will be located just north of the current interchange and will operate as a diverging diamond interchange to improve drivability and provide safer driving conditions for motorists. The project is scheduled for completion in early summer 2027.
