La Junta Senior Golf League Results Aug. 5, 2025
The La Junta Senior Golf League met on August 5 with 44 members, including new member Phyllis Thrall. Nine teams played both a regular scramble and a target chipping contest on the practice green. The challenge chip on hole #6 was not made, however, CaSandra Thomas, Rocky Mueller, Mike Stokes, and R. Jacquart succeeded in the challenge putt on hole #4. The straightest drive prize went to the team of Rod Soden, Carl Anderson, Joy Grasmick, Frank Broce, and Sally Mosher.
Announcements made were: Virgil Lindsay, a senior golfer that originally started playing in this league, recently passed away; the prize for last week’s challenge chip was awarded to Pat Engebrecht; the golf course will have the greens plugged around August 23, but we will still play August 26; and we will not have Senior League on September 2 due to vacations.
