Rocky Ford Trash Truck Crash Injures Crew; Delays Expected as City Seeks Replacement and Support

TRASH SERVICE PSA – ACCIDENT & SERVICE UPDATE

Today, the City of Rocky Ford experienced a serious accident involving our trash truck, resulting in multiple injuries to members of our hardworking trash crew. Our hearts and prayers are with our team, and we ask the community to please keep them in your thoughts during this difficult time.

Due to the damage sustained to our equipment, trash service may experience delays as we work urgently to maintain regular operations. The City of La Junta has graciously stepped up to assist with the commercial route tomorrow, and we are actively reaching out to additional partners for support.

We are also working quickly to locate a replacement trash truck and are preparing a proposal for our City Council’s review to ensure a timely and responsible decision is made.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we navigate this situation and prioritize the safety and wellbeing of our staff.
