CBI Arrests Daniel DeVito for First-Degree Murder in Blue River Homicide of Jordan Labarre

Murder Arrest in Blue River Homicide
July 9, 2025 – CBI – Blue River, CO – The Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has obtained an arrest warrant for 46-year old Daniel Joseph DeVito charging him with the 1st Degree Murder of 32-year old Jordan Elizabeth Labarre of Breckenridge.
At around 6:20 p.m. on July 7, 2025, law enforcement officers from the Blue River Police Department, Summit County Sheriff’s Office, Breckenridge Police Department, Frisco Police Department, Colorado State Patrol and Dillon Police Department responded to a home in the 100 block of Aspen Meadows Circle, Blue River, CO, on a report of “shots fired”. Responding Officers arrived on scene and could hear active gunfire coming from inside the home. Officers surrounded the house and ordered the occupant of the home to come out. Daniel Joseph DeVito (11/29/1978) complied with the orders, exited the home, and was taken into custody without incident. Law Enforcement Officers then entered the home where they located Labarre deceased. DeVito was subsequently charged with an unrelated offense and lodged at the Summit County Detention Facility.
Blue River Police Chief David Close requested the Colorado Bureau of Investigation to assist in the ensuing investigation.
On July 9, 2025, the Colorado Bureau of Investigation obtained probable cause to arrest DeVito with the homicide. DeVito will be advised tomorrow morning at 9:00am in Summit County District Court, Division O.
The Blue River Police Department and the Colorado Bureau of Investigation continue to investigate this incident with assistance from the Summit County Sheriff's Office, the 5th Judicial District Attorney's Office and other law enforcement partners.
Since this is still an active investigation, no additional information will be released at this time.
