Colorado Agriculture Commissioner Remembers Former Commissioner John Stulp as Mentor, Leader, and Water Policy Champion

“I am deeply saddened by the passing of John Stulp, one of my predecessors whom I considered a dear friend and mentor.

John led with deep humility and a generosity of spirit that lifted up those around him. Whether as Commissioner of Agriculture, advisor to the Governor, County Commissioner, farmer or friend, John always made himself available to others.

John had a natural curiosity and always more than enough room in his heart for new people and new ideas. He guided the Colorado Department of Agriculture through many challenging times, and his impact on agricultural and water policy in Colorado will be felt for generations.

John always made sure I knew, and many others knew, that he was just a phone call or a short drive away. It's hard to fathom Colorado without John Stulp. I am among the many who will miss John profoundly.

My sincere condolences go out to John’s family, friends and all who knew him.”
