Timothy Chris Valdez, 51, passed away Friday, June 6, 2025 in Rocky Ford surrounded by his loving family. He was born June 11, 1973 in Denver, Colorado to Christobal & Roberta “Bobbie” (Walz) Valdez.
Tim spent a total of ten years serving in law enforcement, with the majority of his tenure at the Crowley County Sheriff’s Office, where he cherished the bonds he formed with his colleagues, whom he considered his extended family. He was a graduate of Baldwin Park High School, having completed his studies in June of 1991. Following his high school graduation, Tim fulfilled his commitment to service in the military as an Army combat medic from June 1991 to December 1993, providing care and support to those in need during his service.
Tim’s education continued as he pursued his passion in law enforcement, attending Arapahoe Community College for the police academy in May 2003. His choices reflected his generous spirit, always striving to help others in his community. Those who knew him described him as fun, helpful, caring, and generous, qualities that endeared him to all who crossed his path.
Outside of his professional career, Tim found great joy in spending time with his family and traveling with his wife. His interests extended to woodworking, a hobby that allowed him to nurture his creativity and craftsmanship. Tim was also an avid sports fan, finding delight in cheering for his favorite teams. Tim's life was characterized by his deep passion for service, both in his career as a Sheriff Deputy and in his personal life as a devoted husband and father.
Tim is survived by his wife Monica L. Valdez of Rocky Ford, CO; mother, Roberta Walz-Valdez; children, Shaniece Valdez, Tanika Valdez (Randy Romero); Kayla Valdez (William Hoskins); Cristian Valdez; grandchildren, Stevie Valdez, Layla Fernandez and Zakary Garcia; as well as many loved nieces & nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, Christobal Valdez and brother, Steven Valdez; grandfathers, Jerome Walz & Tino Valdez; grandmothers, Joan Walz & Irene Valdez; uncle, Thomas Joseph Walz; and aunt, Gogi Marie Bradburn.
Memorial Service will be held Monday, June 16, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Peacock Memorial Chapel in La Junta, CO with Pastor John Dell of First Christian Church of Rocky Ford officiating. Friends, family, and colleagues are invited to come together to celebrate the remarkable life of a man who touched the lives of many through his unwavering dedication to service and love for those around him.
