Obituary

Joseph (Wilbert) Montoya of Rocky Ford, Colorado, peacefully entered into rest surrounded by his family, May 27, 2025, in Rocky Ford, Colorado. He was born January 13, 1963, to Tina and William Montoya. Wilbert was 62 at the time he entered into rest. He loved to be at the lake fishing, playing pool, playing cards with his family. He loved having his brother Phillip help him with any little thing. These two were partners in crime. Wilbert was always the life of the party, never a dull moment when he was around. When he was on his bike you knew he was coming from down the street when you heard his music. He loved to listen to music on his boombox. He was always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need. He was an avid Denver Bronco and Denver Nuggets fan. There was never a Sunday he missed watching the broncos play.

Wilbert was loved by many and will be greatly missed by all that had the greatest opportunity of being blessed to be a part of his life. Wilbert is survived by his siblings, Judy Montoya, Terry (Gene) Archuletta, William Montoya, Eda (Billy) Croft, Cil (Rosland) Montoya, Josie Montoya, Gilbert Montoya, Philip (JoAnn) Montoya, his longtime girlfriend Angel Grano, many children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. He is proceeded in death by his mother, Tina Montoya, his father, William Montoya, and his little brother Wilfred Montoya.
