Obituary

Corda James Williams, age 37, passed away unexpectedly on May 7, 2025, in La Junta, CO.

Cord was born to Dave and Karen (Denney) Williams on March 2, 1988, in Pueblo, CO, and raised in Swink, CO. He and Aubrey Ayala were together for 15 years and shared three wonderful children: Brynn (13), River (11), and Monroe (10). Cord was a devoted father and husband.

Cord worked at various places, including Inspiration Field, Coffee Holding Company, and the Town of Swink. No matter what the job, he committed fully each day. Anyone who knew Cord recognized him as a hard worker. Among his hobbies, he loved hunting, fishing, and gardening. He spent most of his time outdoors, always including his family in his adventures.

Cord is survived by his wife, Aubrey, and their three children of La Junta, CO; parents Dave and Karen Williams of Swink, CO; sister Ashley (Billy) Montes and their two daughters, Lily and Clara, of Las Animas, CO; grandmother Lois Denney of Loveland, CO; in-laws Anthony and Rebecca Ayala of La Junta, CO; Uncles Dean Williams of Mesa, AZ; Dave (Lynn) Denney of Winsor, CO; Rick (Tina) Denney of Loveland, CO; Aunt Deb Williams Harrington of Tennessee; sisters-in-law Lyndsay Ayala of Taos, NM and Courtney Ayala of La Junta, CO; brothers-in-law Ezekiel (Stacey) Ayala of La Junta; CO and Cameron (Cat) Ayala of La Junta, CO; as well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Cord is preceded in death by paternal grandparents Marvin and Beverly Williams of La Junta, CO, and maternal grandfather Charles Denney of Lake Havasu City, AZ.

Visitation will be held Friday, May 16, 2025, from 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. with Memorial Service to follow at 1:00 p.m. with Hal Holder officiating. Both services will be held at Peacock Memorial Chapel in La Junta.
