Obituary
Rose Marie Grim, 87, of La Junta, CO passed away Tuesday April 8, 2025, at Bluestem Village in La Junta. She was born Thursday, July 1, 1937, in Omaha, Nebraska to Lawrence & Lucille (Wright) Loehr.
Throughout her career, Rose served as the bookkeeper for her family's car lot in Colorado Springs and also managed financial responsibilities for Junction 50 in La Junta, Colorado. She operated the Lake George Market in Lake George, Colorado. It was there that she shared her passion for collectables and antique sales, engaging locals and tourists alike with her keen eye for unique treasures.
Rose loved being a mother and had a special love for her family, she loved spending time with them when she could. Known for her kindness and caring nature, Rose had a impact on those around her, resulting in countless fond memories held by family and friends.
In addition to her business ventures, Rose enjoyed leisure activities, including trips to Cripple Creek, where she delighted in playing the penny slots and playing other casino games. These pursuits brought her joy and allowed her to connect with others who shared her interests.
Rose is survived by her husband, Alvin Grim of the La Junta home; children, Cynthia Beck of Dumfries, VA; Michael Huston of Denver, CO; William Mize of Canon City, CO; step-children, Glenda (Max) Owen of Garden City, KS; Arlan Grim of Garden City, KS; and Shawn (Kris) Griffey of Garden City, KS; numerous grandchildren & great-grandchildren also survive; sister-in-law, Helen Loehr of Denver, CO. She is preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence & Lucille Loehr; children, David Huston, Teresa Huston and Gregory Mize; and her brother, William Loehr.
As we remember Rose, we celebrate her unwavering dedication to her family and the joy she brought to so many lives. She will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered.
Memorial Service will be held Friday, April 18, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Peacock Memorial Chapel in La Junta, with Pastor Ted Williams officiating.
