Massive Garage Fire Extinguished by Lamar Fire and Mutual Aid Crews on N 13th Street

On the evening of 4/3/25 at 1827 Lamar Fire was dispatched to the 600 block of N 13th for a structure fire.
Upon arrival crews reported a garage with metal siding fully involved. Chief 2 arrived on scene and called command requesting a second tone to Lamar Fire for a working structure fire.
Engine 6 advanced 250’ of 5” LDH to the North side of the involved building and deployed two 1.75” pre connects.
A mutual aid request was sent to Prowers County Rural for manpower. Engine 6 also deployed a 2.5” pre connect to begin a defensive attack.
Truck 1 was in staging on N 13th initially and was moved to the East side of Engine 6 off of N 12th. Truck 1 was assigned to deploy the Aerial Master stream to assist in a defensive attack.
Truck 1 advanced 200’ of 5” LDH from 12th street and deployed the Aerial. Truck 1 and Engine 6 both used Master streams to extinguish the fire.
Crews transferred to overhaul the building after the fire was extinguished.
Crews remained on scene until all hot spots were extinguished. The crews placed all apparatus back into service and cleared the scene around 2030.
