Two Suspects Arrested After Stealing Honda Civic and Leading Police on High-Speed Chase in Douglas County

Multiple Law Enforcement Partners Work Together to Capture Violent Suspects
(Douglas County, COLO) - On April 2, 2025, at approximately 3:00 p.m., a "be on the lookout" (BOLO) was issued for a stolen Honda Civic by one suspect who was armed with a handgun and another unarmed suspect. Both suspects entered a residence in Arvada, Colorado, demanded money and keys to the Honda Civic at gun point.
At around 7:30 p.m., a Colorado State Patrol aircraft unit was returning to Centennial Airport from a mission in southern Colorado (an unrelated incident), when the crew spotted the stolen Honda. The Colorado State Patrol aircraft followed the stolen Honda northbound on Interstate 25 just north of East Greenland Road in Larkspur, Colorado, as it coordinated with law enforcement on the ground. The stolen Honda continued northbound on Interstate 25.
The Douglas County Sheriff's Office, Lone Tree Police Department, other local agencies and troopers from the Colorado State Patrol made attempts to stop the Honda Civic and arrest the suspects. At approximately 8 15 p.m., Douglas County Deputies used a tire deflation device, often referred to as stop sticks, to stop the stolen Honda at Havana Street and Interstate 25. The Honda continued westbound on East Lincoln Avenue and a few minutes later a Tactical Vehicle Intervention (TVI) was used to completely stop the vehicle at Rosemont Avenue. The two suspects exited the vehicle and ran on foot. After a short foot pursuit with officers, both suspects were caught and in custody by 8:24 p.m.
Both suspects had warrants for charges that include, auto theft, robbery, burglary and parole violations. Both suspects were assessed at local medical facilities and cleared before being booked into Douglas County jail. There were no injuries to any officers.
The Colorado State Patrol is leading the investigation for the eluding and apprehension of the vehicle in Douglas County. While processing the scene, troopers found a stolen handgun in the vehicle.
The Arvada Police Department is leading the the original investigation regarding the home invasion armed robbery and auto theft in Arvada, Colorado. Any further questions about the home invasion armed robbery and auto theft will be referred to the Arvada Police Department.
