Obituary
In Loving Memory of Epifanio Nieto Jr.
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved Epi who left us on Saturday, March 22, 2025. Epi passed away at Arkansas Valley Regional Medical Center in La Junta, Colorado after suffering from a stroke the day prior.
Epi was born on Monday, May 16, 1970, in La Junta, Colorado to Epifanio Nieto Sr. and Frances Guadalupe (Martinez) Nieto. Epi was raised in La Junta, Colorado and lived there off and on over the years.
Though his journey through life was marked by struggle and hardship, Epi was a person full of compassion, warmth, and had a smile that could light up any room.
Epi was a son, a brother, a husband, a father, and a friend to many, and while his path was not an easy one, he always found a way to offer a helping hand to those in need. Whether it was a word of encouragement, an act of kindness, or simply being there when someone needed him, he had a big heart and a giving spirit.
Throughout his life, Epi faced many challenges, including struggles with addiction and periods of instability. Yet, his resilience and ability to show love and care never wavered. He never gave up on the people he cared about, and for that, we will forever be grateful.
Though he didn’t walk a traditional path, he had a unique way of connecting with others that will leave a lasting impact. His memory will live on in the smiles he brought to people’s faces, the laughter he shared, and the love he gave, no matter how hard life became.
Epi fathered three children. Epi, and then girlfriend, Cherrie Denise Beaman, welcomed Brandon Lee Fargerson into the world on November 19, 1987. Epi, together with his then wife, Andrea Celeste Bravo-Nieto, welcomed Brent Fanio Bravo-Nieto into the world on August 23, 1994. Andrea already had a daughter, Lindsay, when she and Epi met, and Epi fell in love with that little girl and considered her his own. On October 20, 1998, he welcomed a daughter, Paige McAlister, with Gaila Jones.
On November 4th of last year, Epi married the love of his life, Amanda.
Epi is survived by his two sons and his daughter, his loving wife Amanda Nieto and her children/his bonus children Haleigh, Kiera, Evan and Connor of Denver, Colorado; along with his parents Frances Nieto, of La Junta, Colorado and Epifanio Nieto Sr., of Denver, Colorado; his siblings Robert (Cathy) Martinez of La Junta, Colorado, and Brandi (Matthew) Pring-Nieto of Greeley, Colorado; his nieces Sarah Martinez of Cañon City, Colorado, and Oktavia Rios of Greeley, Colorado; his nephews Bobby (Tonya) Martinez of La Junta, Colorado and Noah Pring-Nieto of Greeley, Colorado; his great nieces Selena Martinez and Athena Martinez both of La Junta, Colorado and Savanna Evans of Cañon City, Colorado; his great nephews Michael Ramirez, Tyson Martinez, and Shane Dippre, all of La Junta, Colorado and Gabriel Evans of Cañon City, Colorado. Epi is also survived by four grandchildren, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, and many friends, all of whom loved him dearly.
Epi was preceded in death by both his Maternal Grandparents Emma and Marcel Martinez and his Paternal Grandparents Emma and Frank Otero.
A celebration of his life will be held on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Inspiration Field, 612 Adams Ave., La Junta, Colorado 81050.
Rest in peace, Epi. You are deeply loved and will never be forgotten.
