Rollovers On I-25 Near Walsenburg


(HUERFANO COUNTY, COLO)- The Colorado State Patrol responded five separate rollovers on I-25 near Walsenburg. 

The first incident involved a Chevrolet Suburban hauling a trailer on southbound I-25  milepost 53. The Chevrolet was upright while the trailer was on its side. Both lanes of traffic were blocked. The five occupants of the Chevrolet were transported to a local area hospital. It is unknown the extent of injuries at this time. 

The second incident involved a semi-truck hauling an empty trailer on southbound I-25 milepost 56. Both lanes of traffic were blocked.  There were no injuries reported at this time. 

The third incident involved a semi-truck hauling a trailer on I-25 milepost 54. The left southbound lane and the left northbound lane on I-25 were blocked. One driver was transported to a local area hospital. It is unknown the extent of injuries at this time. 

The fourth incident involved a Toyota Tundra hauling a trailer on northbound I-25 milepost 53. The Toyota Tundra and trailer were not blocking. There were no injuries reported at this time.

The final incident involved a Ram 1500 hauling a trailer on I-25 milepost 53. Both lanes of travel were blocked. Minor injuries are suspected at this time.

High profile vehicles, including semi-trucks are warned that the high wind warnings remain in effect until 7 p.m. this evening in Trinidad Vicinity/Western Las Animas County Below 7500 Feet and Walsenburg Vicinity/Upper Huerfano River Basin Below 7500 feet.
