La Junta Police Make Arrest with Public Assistance

 

On March 5th, 2025 at about 3:11 PM, officers with the La Junta Police Department were dispatched to a call about a vehicle that had been stolen from the 900 block of Raton Ave in La Junta, CO just minutes before.

 

At about 3:14, an officer located the vehicle, westbound on HWY 50. At Dalton Ave and HWY 50, officers tried to conduct a traffic stop on the vehicle but the driver accelerated and began to flee.

 

Officers pursued the vehicle, still westbound on HWY 50. Officers decided to discontinue the pursuit in the interest of public safety. About this time, a vigilant citizen observed that the vehicle had appeared to come to a stop and notified officers.

 

Officers went to where the vehicle had come to a stop and took the driver, 22-year-old Izabell Vigil, of Denver, CO into custody.
