Obituary

Jimmy Gallegos of Rocky Ford passed away at his home at the age of 66 on Tuesday, February 18, 2025. Jimmy was born in La Junta to George and Beatrice Gallegos. He lived in the Arkansas Valley for his entire life. Jimmy was a happy go lucky kind of guy, everyone who knew him loved him, he had an infectious smile. He rarely spoke but he would communicate with his eyes. He was gentle and kindhearted, he enjoyed what he had. Jimmy was involved with Inspiration Field starting at the age of 12 and continuing with them the rest of his life. He enjoyed going cruising, eating burgers and getting strawberry shakes and his whiskey, which everyone else referred to as Pepsi. He also loved to sing his Spanish music with his brother.

The family would like to thank Inspiration Field and Sangre de Cristo Hospice, especially Melissa and Shay, for all their kindness and for the work they did with Jimmy.

Jimmy is survived by his 1 sister: Margaret (Joe) Medina of Rocky Ford, 1 brother: Ed Gallegos of Colorado Springs. He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers, 2 sisters.

Rosary Service Held on Friday, February 28th, 2025 10:00am at St. Peter's Catholic Church with Services Held on Friday, February 28th, 2025 10:30am at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Rocky Ford, Colorado. Bellwood Ustick Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
