Father and Son Arrested for Mother's Murder in Pagosa Springs
October 28, 2024 – CBI – Pagosa Springs, CO – The Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested a father and teenage son for the murder of the boy's mother in Pagosa Springs on July 2, 2024. Charles Christopher Martinez, age 43 and his 17-year old Hevon Martinez, have both been booked on the count of 1st Degree Murder. The teen, who was already in custody on separate charges, will be charged as an adult. His father was taken into custody in Cortez and booked into the Archuleta County Detention Center.
The investigation began on the morning of July 2, 2024 when 911 dispatch operators received an emergency call from a phone belonging to 38-year Chrystal Snow. When Archuleta County deputies arrived at her home, they discovered she had been shot to death.
The Colorado Bureau of Investigation received assistance in this case from the Archuleta County Sheriff's Office, the Montezuma County Sheriff's Office, the Cortez Police Department and the 6th Judicial District Attorney's Office.
Both suspects are presumed innocent unless and until, proven guilty in a court of law.
