Obituary

Edwin "Ed" Anderson, 82, of Olney Springs, CO became an angel in Heaven Friday, May 3, 2024, at his Olney Springs home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born Friday, December 26, 1941, in Elgin, Ilinois to Eugene Edwin & Ada Marie (Stroupe) Anderson.

Ed is survived by his daughters, Marsha (Danny) Specht of Apache Junction, AZ; Charlotte (Jerry) Willbanks of Olney Springs, CO; Tammy (Kenneth IV) Myers of Rising Sun, MD; Lynn (Wade) Rusher of Rangely, CO; and foster son, George Stelter of Crowley, CO; grandchildren, John (April) Hall, Chris Hall, Kristen Kent, Sara (Michael) Adair,  Armando (Kristen) Diaz, Kenneth Myers, V, Justin Rusher, and Whitney Lorell Rusher; 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Linda Adams; niece, Alexis Adams, and numerous nieces and nephews by marriage, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Georgia Lorell Anderson; sister, Nancy Jo Anderson; and infant brother, Jimmy Anderson.

A special thanks to his granddaughter, Kristen Kent and great-grandson, Zachary Kent and to the amazing staff of the Sangre De Cristo Hospice Center for taking such wonderful care of our beloved angel.

Visitation will be held Thursday, May 9, 2024, at Peacock Memorial Chapel in La Junta from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be Friday, May 10, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at the Fowler United Methodist Church in Fowler, CO with Reverend Julie King-Dye officiating. Interment to follow at Fowler Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Ed’s name to The American Cancer Society, www.cancer.org or Sangre De Cristo Hospice, www.socohospice.org.
