Obituary

Joseph Michael Headley, 52, of Rocky Ford, Colorado, passed away Monday, March 25, 2024, at UC-Health University of Colorado Hospital in Aurora, Colorado. He was born Thursday, April 8, 1971, in Pueblo, Colorado to Ray & Ellen (Mosco) Headley.

To Joe, everyone was his friend, and he never met a stranger. Joe graduated from Swink High School in Swink, Colorado. In high school, he was quarterback for 4 years, wrestler for 4 years and loved and excelled at sports. He then went on to attend Adams State University in Alamosa, Colorado, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. Joe worked as a physical therapist assistant at Arkansas Valley Regional Medical Center in La Junta before becoming a teacher at Manzanola High School. While at Manzanola High he was also the Athletic Director along with being a coach. All of his students felt as if they were his favorite, they all truly were, and his athletes all felt the same. He attended Faith Community Church in Swink. Joe was an amazing husband and wonderful father. He was so proud of his children, whom his life revolved around. He will be greatly missed by all.

Joe is survived by his wife Susan Headley of the Rocky Ford home; children, Jason & Kaylee Headley; mother, Ellen Headley of Swink, CO; brother, Chris (Jen) Headley of Pueblo, CO; nieces, Ella Headley; Alyssa & Reyna Loveland; brother in-law, Glenn (Heather) Loveland; and father in-law, Steve Loveland. He is preceded in death by his father, Ray Headley, and maternal & paternal grandparents.
