Crowley County Sheriff's Office: Salvador Bailon Sentenced to 9 Years


Description: On February 2, 2023, Salvador Bailon was sentenced in the Crowley County District Court to nine years in the Colorado Department of Corrections for Domestic Violence related assault charges involving a handgun.

Feb. 2, 2023 Update from Crowley County Sheriff:

On September 14, 2022, there was an incident at a housing project in Ordway, CO where shots were fired, and a woman assaulted. There were several people in close proximity and thankfully no one was seriously injured. It was determined that Salvador Bailon was the man who had fired the gun and a manhunt ensued to get him into custody. 

On October 14, 2022 Slavador Bailon was taken into custody after a two-hour standoff in a  La Junta, CO neighborhood. No one was injured during the apprehension. 

(The La Junta Police Department has released that they have successfully apprehended Salvador Vincent Bailon without incident or harm to bystanders or law enforcement personnel.)

I would like to personally  thank the La Junta Poice Department, The Otero Couty Sheriff’s Office. The United States Marshal’s Office, the Pueblo Police Department and the Colorado Bureau of Investgigations for their work in apprehending Salvador Bailon, with special recognition to CBI Agent Michael Hecht and Otero County Undersheriff Matt Wallace who were instrumental in Bailon’s capture. 

I would also like to recognize the work of the Crowley County Combined Courts and the 16th Judicial District Attorney's Office in resolving this case and removing a dangerous threat from our community.
