Leslie Bonds and Kathy Sharp are two proud members of the Fowler community. Both of these amazing ladies have been raised in the Arkansas Valley and lived here their entire lives; watching the town of Fowler grow and change as the years have gone by.

Kathy was raised in Rocky Ford until she moved to Fowler for her High school years. She then met and married Gary Sharp, and they moved back to Rocky Ford because Gary worked at the Radio Station. The two returned to Fowler in ‘78 just before they were blessed with their first child. The couple purchased Bud’s Propane, and started a life here in Fowler. After they had moved back, Kathy realized how much of a better school system, and town as a whole, Fowler truly is. Kathy was later blessed with two more sons, and 8 fantastic grandkids.

Leslie, on the other hand, was born and raised in Fowler, attending Kindergarten through 12th Grade at the Fowler School District . She later met her husband Jerry who went to work in the construction field, while she went to college at Adams State. They married in 1978 and started Bonds Construction which later became a successful company. They continued the business until 2014 when Jerry sadly passed away. The two raised their 4 kids, who all graduated from Fowler High School. Leslie now has 11 grandchildren, with some who are currently in the Fowler School District.

Both of them agreed that a big part of why they love Fowler is that everyone kind of just looks out for everyone, everyone is close, and it’s a true community. “They say it takes a village, and it does.” -Leslie Bonds. Neither of them would have liked to grow their family any place else because of how connected everyone is. Everyone would always look out for you and your kids- “As if you had a family built around you.”- as they would put it.

The one word that these two ladies could find to perfectly describe our town is “Blessed”. They both agree they would never want to live anywhere else. It has been such an amazing place to raise their families and have people to surround them. The two agree that the support is incomparable to any other place. “The overall love that is in this town is just unbelievable”. As these two have put it, “We are truly blessed to live in a place as great as Fowler Colorado.”
