Tri-County Family Care Center (TCFCC) will have their 17th Annual “Cruisin’ Into Fun Festival” & “Keep Kids Safe” Fair, on Saturday, June 3, 2023 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in downtown Rocky Ford along South Main from Railroad Park to Maple Street. 

Rocky Ford Chamber of Commerce will sponsor a breakfast from 8 to 10 a.m. in front of the Gobin building. Kenny Arguello will emcee the event and Trent Ryan, Ark Valley Entertainment will be the DJ. There will be entertainment throughout the day at the stage on Front Street & Railroad Park to include Caitlyn Tibbles, who will sing and play ukulele, Katie & Kaydence Lagergren, Successful Rejects Band, Bridget Briscoe and Ray Evens. Performances by: Las Animas Jaguar Warrior Azteca Dancers and an Old West Live Reenactment from Colorado Springs.

Kids Games will start at 10 a.m. in the park. There will be several contests including: Hula Hoop, Gunny Sack Race and Musical Chairs in four age categories: 5-8, 9-12, 13-17 yrs and older. Kid’s Games sponsors are: Tank & Tummy, Pepsi Beverages Company, Rocky Ford Sonic, Rocky Ford Food Market, La Junta Pizza Hut, La Junta Love’s Country Store and Refrigeration Equipment Inc.

Our “Got Wheels?” car show will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. with registration starting 9 a.m. at Ninth and Walnut. Show will feature cars of any year, make and model in the following classes: Original, Classic, 4 Wheel Drives, Customized, Lowrider, Hotrod, Motorcycle & Lowrider Peddle Bike. People with unusual & art vehicles are encouraged to bring them to show for free. Participants will vote on a People’s Choice award. UC Lifeline helicopter will land in City Hall parking lot at 10 a.m. to be on display and distribute information. Car Show sponsors are: Ruby’s Auto Body, Absolute Automotive, NAPA/Valley Auto Parts, Perkins Chevrolet, La Junta Car Quest, Arkansas Valley Lumber, La Junta Trading and Ark Valley Entertainment. An Art car from Trinidad, a 1984 Ford Mustang Police Vehicle and a Frontliner FLD 1994 Blackout Truck (POW) will be on display.

 “Keep Kids Safe” Fair will have safety booths for children 16 and younger to receive a sticker from each booth they visit for Bingo. Once the Bingo sheets are filled, they will be entered into a drawing at the registration table by the stage for a prize. La Junta Fire Department will have their Fire Safety trailer on hand to tour. Colorado State Patrol will have a seat belt convincer to try out. ‘Keep Kids Safe’ sponsors are Morgan & Sons, Otero County Insurance, Lewis Bolt & Nut, Colorado Bank & Trust, Val-U-Med Pharmacy, Wallace Oil, Arkansas Valley Regional Medical Center, Corvette Connection & Performance, Walter Tucker, City of Rocky Ford Economic Development, Gearhead, Inc. and First National Bank. “Silver” sponsors are: Fowler Thaxton’s Market, Dianne Willhoite, SM Construction, Connect for Health Colorado, The State Bank and Otero County Tobacco Coalition. “Super” Sponsors are KKTV 11 News, Total Concept and CHFA (Colorado Housing & Finance Authority).

People can take a tour of the new Rocky Ford Fire facility. They plan to have several drawings for bikes later in the day. A beer garden will be sponsored by Rocky Ford Wrestling Foundation. Aaron Salas will have the corn hole tournament. A 50/50 Cast Pot Raffle drawing will be held 4:00 pm at the stage.

The day’s festivities will conclude with a Pie Eating Contest co-sponsored by TCFCC and Village Inn of La Junta at 4:15 p.m. at the stage on Front Street. This is between RF City Hall and Railroad Park with four age categories: 6-9, 10-12, 13-15 and 16 yrs or older.
