Job Summary
- Responsible for direction of patient care activities in the Medical/Surgical (M/S) setting. This includes the M/S inpatient and observation patients, Outpatient Infusion Therapy patients, and Swing Bed patients.
- Manages staff in the M/S unit.
- Consults with staff, physicians and the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) on nursing problems and interpretation of facility policies to ensure patient needs are met.
- Maintains performance improvement activities within the department and participates in quality improvement activities.
- Assists in formulating the department budget.
Skill/Educational Requirements:
- Unencumbered current Colorado Registered Nurse license.
- Current BLS certification.
- Current ACLS certification.
- Current PALS certification or able to obtain in the first six months of hire.
- Three or more years’ experience in acute care nursing.
- Minimum of one year of nursing leadership experience preferred which may include charge nurse role.
- BSN preferred
