Weekly Incident Report 1/21-1/27

1/21/2023

Deputies responded to the 100 block of Bent Ave for a call of a traffic problem. Deputies were able to locate the vehicle and remove the snow from the tail light to make the vehicle visible. 

Deputies responded to Highway 50 and mile marker 405 for a vehicle slide off. The vehicle was able to get out of the ditch.

Deputies responded to Highway 50 and mile marker 426 for a call of an accident. Deputies arrived on scene and shut down traffic temporarily. The vehicle was towed and traffic was opened. 

Deputies responded to Highway 50 and county road 6.5 for a slide off call. Deputies arrived on scene and the vehicle was towed. 

Deputies responded to Highway 50 and mile marker 401 for a traffic call. Deputies arrived on scene and the vehicle was towed. 

Deputies responded to Highway 50 and county road 12 for a slide off call. Deputies arrived on scene and the vehicle was towed. 

Deputies responded to Highway 50 and mile marker 399 for a motorist assist call. Deputies arrived on scene and determined everything was okay. 

Deputies responded to Highway 50 at mile post 405 for a vehicle that slid off the roadway due to wind, ice and snow.  Deputies ensured there were no injuries and stayed on scene for safety while the occupants awaited a tow.

Deputies responded to the 400 block of Vine for an animal call. Deputies arrived on scene and spoke to the owner determining that everything was okay. 

Deputies responded to Highway 50 and county road 28 for a motorist assist call. Deputies arrived on scene and the vehicle was towed. 

Deputies responded to the 300 block of Elm Avenue in Las Animas for the report of a welfare check. Deputies were unable to get anyone to answer the door.

Deputies responded to the 800 block of 3rd st in Las Animas for the report of a welfare check. Deputies found everything to be okay.

Deputies responded to the 400 block of Moore Avenue for a welfare check. Upon further investigation, deputies discovered the violation of a protection order. The individual was taken into custody and transported to the Bent County Jail.

Deputies responded to the 400 block of Ambassador Thompson in Las Animas for the report of a person with a warrant. Deputies were able to locate the person and determined that they were clear.

1/22/2023

Deputies responded to the 600 block of Ash Avenue for an ambulance call. Deputies assisted medical staff and the patient was transported to the hospital. 

Deputies responded to Highway 50, mile marker 413 for a reckless driver call. Deputies were unable to locate. 

Deputies conducted a traffic stop on Highway 50, mile marker 398. The driver was issued a summons for failure to present evidence of insurance upon request. 

Deputies responded to the 600 block of 6th street for a lost property call. Deputies entered the license plates as stolen. 

Deputies responded to the 600 block of Oak avenue for a theft call. Deputies were unable to locate. 

Deputies responded to the 800 block of 3rd street for an ambulance call. Deputies assisted medical and the patient was transported to the hospital. 

Deputies responded to the 28000 block of County Road LL for the report of a vehicle unlocking. Deputies unlocked the vehicle.

Deputies responded to the 31000 block of County Road 9 for the report of suspicious activity. Deputies were unable to locate any suspicious activity.

1/23/2023

Deputies responded to the intersection of Highway 194 and County Road 7 for a motorist assist. Deputies assisted the motorist.

Deputies responded to CR LL and CR 32 on a report of a motorist assist. Deputies helped the vehicle to get back on the road. 

Deputies responded to Highway 50 and CR 13 on a report of an abandoned vehicle. Deputies cleared the vehicle and reported it to CSP to red tag. 

Deputies responded to the 10,000 block of Highway 194 on a report of damaged property. Deputies made a report of the incident. 

Deputies responded to the 600 block of Ash Ave on a report of suspicious activity. Deputies found everything to be okay. 

Deputies responded to the 200 block of 6th St. on a report of stolen property. Deputies were unable to confirm the property was stolen and not lost. 

Deputies responded to the 200 block of St. Vrain Ave on a report of a dog killing chickens. Deputies took the dog into custody for a quarantine and issued a summons. 

Deputies responded to the 11,000 block of CR GG.5 on a report of suspicious activity. Deputies are investigating this issue. 

Deputies responded to the 600 block of 2nd Street for the report of suspicious activity. After further investigation, deputies determined that everything was okay.

1/24/2023

Deputies responded to the 900 block of Carson Ave on a report of burglary. Deputies were unable to locate anyone at the residence. 

Deputies responded to the 200 block of 2nd St on a report of an agency assist. 

Deputies responded to the 1600 block of 6th St. on a report of a vehicle accident. Deputies took a report on the incident. 

Deputies responded to the 7000 block of Highway 194 on a report of cattle in the roadway. Cattle were put back into the owners property and deputies waited for the owner to arrive to fix the fence. 

Deputies responded to the 30000 block of County Road 15 for the report of trespassing. Deputies were unable to locate the trespassed individual.

Deputies responded to the 600 block of Ash Avenue for the report of harassment. Deputies determined that everything was okay.

Deputies responded to the 300 block of Grove Avenue for the report of a reckless driver. Deputies issued a warning to the driver.

1/25/2023

Deputies responded to the 600 block of McBride Avenue for the report of an ambulance assist. Deputies assisted EMS with loading the patient.

Deputies responded to the 700 block of Grand Ave for a vehicle unlock. Deputies unlocked the vehicle.

Deputies responded to the 500 block of Grove Ave for a juvenile problem. Deputies spoke with the juvenile and parents and came to a resolution.

Deputies responded to the 700 block of Locust Ave for a welfare check. Deputies spoke with the party and determined everything was okay.

Deputies responded to the 33,000 block of County Road 6.5 for a vin inspection. Deputies completed the vin inspection.

Deputies responded to the 1,200 block of 9th St for a report of a domestic problem. Deputies spoke with all parties involved and came to a civil agreement.

Deputies responded to the 100 block of Bent Ave for a report of a vehicle fire. Deputies assisted the Fire Department.

Deputies responded to the 900 block of Vine for a report of animal cruelty. Deputies investigated and determined there was no animal cruelty.

Deputies responded to the 900 block of Locust Ave for a welfare check. Deputies were unable to make contact with the party for the welfare check.

Deputies responded to the 300 block of Grove Avenue for the report of a burglar alarm. Deputies determined the alarm to be a false alarm.

1/26/2023

Deputies responded to Highway 50 at mile post 405 for the report of a reckless/dangerous driver.  Deputies were unable to locate the vehicle.

Deputies responded to the 700 block of Poplar avenue for a call of a threat. Deputies responded and determined everything was okay.

Deputies responded to the 700 block of Locust avenue for a welfare check. Deputies contacted the individual and determined everything was okay. 

Deputies conducted a traffic stop on Highway 50, mile post 401. The driver was issued a summons. 

Deputies responded to the 900 block of Ash avenue for an animal call. Deputies were unable to locate. 

Deputies responded to the 30,000 block of County road 15 for an ambulance call. Deputies assisted the medical staff with loading the patient. 

Deputies responded to the 600 block of Grand avenue for a harassment call. Deputies arrived on scene and were unable to locate. 

Deputies responded to the 30,000 block of County road 15 for an ambulance call. Deputies assisted the medical crew with loading the patient. 

Deputies responded to the 31,000 block of Highway 183 for a call of suspicious activity. Deputies talked to the reporting party and determined everything was okay. 

Deputies observed an individual who had a warrant for their arrest in the 800 Block of Locust in Las Animas. Deputies took the individual into custody and transported them to the Bent County Jail.

1/27/2023

Deputies responded to the 700 block of Poplar for a report of a burglar alarm. Deputies searched the area and were unable to locate any activity. 

Deputies responded to the area of Hwy 101, and the cemetery for a reckless driver. Deputies were unable to locate the vehicle.

Deputies responded to the 1,400 block of 6th St for a suspicious person. Deputies spoke with the reporting party and located the suspect and the suspect was trespassed from the property.

Deputies responded to the 600 block of Grand Ave for a report of a civil problem. Deputies told the reporting party that it was a civil matter and that they should talk to the courts.

Deputies responded to Ambassador Thompson Blvd, and Grand Ave for a report of a broken-down semi. Deputies assisted with traffic control.

Deputies responded to the 700 block of Bent Ave for a report of harassment. Deputies spoke with both parties who agreed not to contact the other.

Deputies responded to the 100 block of North Bent Ave for a party with a warrant. Deputies took the party into custody and transported the party to the Bent County Jail.

Deputies responded to the 700 block of Bent Ave for public assistance. Deputies assisted the party to their vehicle.

Deputies responded to Highway 50 near County Road 24 for the report of a dangerous driver.  Deputies drove to the Prowers County line and were unable to locate the vehicle.

Deputies responded to the 500 block of Lois for the report of an animal being neglected.  Deputies were unable to approach the dog but were able to determine the dog was healthy and had access to shelter.

Deputies took a call from AVRMC regarding an animal attack. Deputies spoke with the victim. The victim did not want to file a report and refused to give a statement.

Deputies responded to Highway 50 near County Road 17 for the report of a dangerous driver.  Deputies were unable to locate the vehicle.

Deputies responded to the 700 block of Vine Avenue for the report of shots fired. A search warrant was requested and signed by a judge. Deputies executed the search warrant without incident.  Further investigation is ongoing.
