Lady Lions 800 Medley Relay Team Places 13th at State
The Swink Lady Lions Medley Relay Team surpassed their previous best and finished their season in state competition in Lakewood Colorado at the Colorado High School Activities Association 2A State Track and Field Championships on May 19, 2022.
According to Coach Jen Garcia, the girls ran a previous PR of 2:00.28. She said they were able to beat it by nearly a second and broke the 2 minute barrier with a time of 1:59.38 in CHSAA State competition. Overall they were able to raise their ranking from 18th to 13th. For such a young relay team they were very competitive this season.
The Lions should expect great things from these young athletes who will surely improve with practice. These girls are multi-sport athletes and there are lots of high school sports experiences ahead of them.
