Sharpe Fire Update 5/21/26: Colorado Side Reaches 100% Containment


Description: The Colorado portion of the Sharpe Fire south of Springfield is now 100% contained after burning 16,240 acres. Most crews are demobilizing, while remaining engines continue patrolling firelines and checking for interior hot spots.

Containment: 100% (containment reported in this post is only for the fire area within the state of Colorado)

Location: South of Springfield, CO

With the Colorado side of the Sharpe fire being 100% contained, many of the crews are demobilizing and returning home.

The community can expect to see a few remaining fire engines and overhead in the area as they continue to patrol the firelines and looking for any additional hot spots in the interior of the fire footprint.
