Las Animas Fentanyl Investigation Leads to Multiple Arrests Following Bent County Sheriff’s Office and Multi-Agency Raids
On April 30, 2026, at approximately 1432 hours, the Bent County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of trespassing in the 10000 block of County Road EE.
During the initial investigation, Jacob Gragg was taken into custody and charged with:
18-18-405(1)(a)(2)(c) Unlawful distribution/manufacture/dispense/sale DF3
18-18-403.5(1)(2.5)(a)(II) Unlawful possession of a controlled substance M1
18-18-404(1)(a) Unlawful use of a controlled substance DM2
18-4-504(1)(2) Third Degree criminal trespass PO
18-18-428(1)(a)(2) Possession of drug paraphernalia PO
As the investigation progressed, deputies developed credible intelligence indicating that fentanyl was being distributed from three separate residences within the city of Las Animas.
900 block of Bent avenue
800 block of 6th street
1100 block of 5th street
In response to this information, deputies secured search warrants for all three locations.
At approximately 0140 hours, these warrants were executed simultaneously through a coordinated effort involving the Bent County Sheriff’s Office, the Bent County Posse, and the La Junta Police Department.
The following individuals were arrested in connection with this investigation:
• Isaiah Burquez: 18-18-405(1)(a)(2)(c)(v) Unlawful distribution/manufacture/dispense/sale, Special offender, violation of a protection order 18-6-803.5
• Yuri Witucki: Violation of a protection order 18-6-803.5
• Abigail Jenkins: Violation of a protection order 18-6-803.5
• Michael Villagrana: Violation of a protection order 18-6-803.5
