Obituary
Connie Archuleta, 73, passed away on October 8, 2025, surrounded by the most important thing in her life – her family. She was born on September 14, 1952, to Carmen (Lovato) and Esteban Minjarez.
Connie was so many things to so many people. She was a good friend, sister, & daughter, but her most fulfilling job - God’s purpose for her – which she poured her heart and soul into, was wife, mom, grandma, and great grandma.
She taught by example, unconditional love, compassion, patience, and the meaning of family.
Connie married Joseph “Alan” Archuleta on October 14, 1972. She was a devoted wife until Alan went home to be with the Lord on July 14, 2015.
Connie worked at the State Bank of Rocky Ford for many years where she made lots of friends and built meaningful relationships.
Connie was preceded in death by her husband, Alan of 42 years, her grandson, Trennon LeAndrew Archuleta, her parents, Esteban & Carmen Minjarez, and her sister, Lucy Salinas.
She is survived by her son, Joseph (Nikki Bjork) Archuleta; daughter, Paula (John) Comerford; grandchildren, Rayven (Garron Espinoza) Sanchez, Mariah Archuleta, John Leo (Briannon Seamans) Comerford, V, Alannah (Shawn Kunkel) Comerford; and two great-grandchildren, John Leo Comerford, VI, and Olivia Elena Espinoza. She is also survived by her siblings, Cora Avitia, Johnnie Minjarez, Hope Minjarez, Arthur (Vanessa) Minjarez, and Pauline Gallegos; numerous nieces, nephews, and her friends.
Connie will be missed so much and thought of often, but we, her family, will continue her legacy of love.
Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be Tuesday, October 21, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. at St. Peter Catholic Church in Rocky Ford with Father Muthu officiating. Interment will follow at the Rocky Ford Cemetery.
Grief, I have learned, is really just love. It is all the love you want to give but cannot. All that unspent love gathers up in the corners of your eyes, the lump in your throat and in that hollow part of your chest. Grief is just love with no place to go.
