Obituary

Edna May Schlegel of Rocky Ford passed away at Pioneer Healtcare on April 27, 2024 at the age of 93. Edna was born in Santa Fe, NM to Frank and Henreitta Trembly. She was the 10th of 12 children, and the last surviving child of Frank and Henreitta. She married Elmer Schlegel on December 24, 1956. and they raised their family in Rocky Ford. Edna was a farmer’s wife. She worked at the elementary school in the kitchen. She loved children and would babysit to help with family expenses.

Edna is survived by her 2 daughters: Peggy (Jimmy) Konieczny of Newnan, GA, Donna Dwinell of Gravette, AR, son-in-law: Larry Dwinell of Rocky Ford, 7 grandchildren: Jessica (Eddie) David of Ladson, SC, Tim Dwinell of Barling, AR, Jeremy Moreland, Rob (Amanda) Smith both of Newnan, GA, Megan Dwinell of Gravette, AR, Andrew (Briana) Dwinell of Joplin, MO, 6 great-grandchildren: Eddie David of Ladson, SC, Brysen Brown, Ellee Dwinell both of Joplin, MO, Jake smith, Emmy Smith & Lexie Smith all of Newnan, GA, sister-in-law Rose Ward of La Junta, brother-in-law Gene Henley of Elkhart, KS along with several nieces, nephews and other family members. She was preceded in death by her husband Elmer Schlegel, son Delmer Schlegel, 11 siblings: Harold Trembly, Alvin Trembly, Lester Trembly, Gerald Trembly, Cleo Trembly, Virgil Trembly, Irene McMillan, Mary Talbert, Barbara Henley, Dora Howe, and Flossie Thompson.

Services Held on Thursday, May 2nd, 2024 at 11:00am at Valley View Cemetery in Rocky Ford. Bellwood Ustick Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
