La Junta Senior Golf Results for 4/23/24

Today was opening day for the 2024 La Junta Senior Golf League at the La Junta Golf Course. It was blustery, but the sun was shining, and the golf balls flew! Forty participants signed up, which made up eight teams of five golfers. Tom Aldea was introduced as a new member.

We played nine holes of scramble golf. There was a challenge chip on hole #5, and challenge putt on hole #3 and two other bonus putts on holes #2 and 7 that, if made, would lower the team score. Unfortunately, none of the challenges were successful.

Next Tuesday, April 30, we will be playing the string game along with the scramble golf.  Registration will be 9:15 – 9:30 a.m. Teams are picked at 9:45 a.m. and no players can be added after that.  Call 719-469-0691 if you are going to be late for registration but will be in time to tee off. Play will begin at approximately 10:00 a.m.
